Singles have much less sex than couples. Or rather much more often? Find out the truth in this article.
Especially during the lockdown, solo people feel as if all couples now have great fun in bed. And that they are missing out. However, unless a pandemic comes over the entire world, it doesn’t necessarily look like that.
How often do singles actually have sex? A dating portal and an online shop for erotic toys got to the bottom of this hot question. Around 12,000 German singles took part in the survey.
Nearly 17 million singles and lots of pillow talk
If you are single and think you simply can’t find your right partner, this figure might give you some hope: A total of 16.8 million adult singles live in Germany – the over-65s are not counted. But it’s getting better. About half of them (i.e., about 8.4 million of the singles) are between 18 and 24 years old. Thus, the single market is quite young. And where is it booming? In Germany’s capital city. Most solo men and women populate the dating scene of Berlin.
And yes, these singles have a wonderful sex life. Half of them do it several times a month. Ok, this is also true for 80% for the couples. But the number is still remarkable.
No wonder that more than one in three singles is satisfied with their sex life and even almost one in two, according to their own statements, enjoys plenty of variety in bed. Singles are also well equipped with appropriate toys: 56% of singles own at least one erotic toy, with which they experience sweet hours alone or in company.
Variety is important
The fact that the singles have so much fun in bed – and at the same time also enjoy great variety – is probably due, among other things, to the many websites and dating apps for singles that are available on the market. These include not only offers that aim at a steady partnership. On some casual dating portals, something else is paramount: casual fun. Without any obligations. Whether single or couple, both have a lot of fun in bed. And a pandemic is not supposed to change that.
